Mary Harvey, his ex-wife of 16 years,  has taken to YouTube to warn those reading Harvey's tomes about the man to whom they are listening, after the bitter divorce. She says Steve cheated on her multiple times, including once with a woman who actually told Mary the sex had been unprotected.

Sad news to report Jack Lalane has died at age 96. He espoused bodybuilding and the virtues of lifting weights, at a time when few had access to them. 

The cause, said Hersh, was respiratory failure due to pneumonia. LaLanne had been ill for the past week.  His wife, Elaine, was at his side, along with his family and friends, Hersh said.

His physical feats included completing 1,000 push-ups and 1,000 chin-ups in 86 minutes in 1959, and in 1984, when aged 70, towing 70 boats 1.5 miles in Long Beach harbour, while he was shackled and handcuffed. Nearly 30 years earlier he swam from Alcatraz island to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco, also in handcuffs.

At 21, he opened his first gym in Oakland, California. It was 1936, and most doctors at the time warned against working out with weights, believing it could cause a heart attack or ruin a man’s sex drive. Considered a crackpot at the time, La Lanne eventually became America’s foremost authority on fitness. His gym grew into a chain of fitness clubs, with no reports of members dying or losing interest in sex. To add variety to his customers’ workouts, he devised such now-standard equipment as leg-extension machines and weights on pulleys for lifting. Over subsequent years, La Lanne was among the first to produce protein supplements and nutrition bars.

Ashley Turton, Congressional Affairs Director, Found Dead In Burning Car . 


Ashley Turton, director of congressional affairs for Progress Energy, was found dead in a burning car Monday morning in Washington, Politico reports. Turton's husband is White House deputy director of House legislative affairs, Dan Turton.

According to the Washington Post, "a preliminary investigation indicated that the car crashed into the garage of a home in the 800 block of A Street SE."

People in that area  say the fire started at approximately 5:00 AM. "[Metropolitan Police Lt. Nicholas] Breul said fire officials were at the scene two minutes after neighbors dialed 911. The firefighters discovered Turton’s body inside the car, when the fire was extinguished.

 

Turton, 37 and a mother of three, was married to White House Congressional liaison Daniel Turton. She had worked with Progress Energy for more than three years.

“Ashley was a valued employee whose insight and hard work had been critical on so many of our legislative and regulatory issues,” said Progress Energy CEO Bill Johnson in a news release. “She was also a dear friend to many of us and this news is very hard to take. I know we all will keep her husband, children and parents in our thoughts and prayers.”

Tom DeLay sentenced to 3 years in prison

Former House majority leader Tom DeLay, who helped build and tightly control a Republican majority in his chamber was sentenced by a state judge Monday to three years in prison. 

The charges: Illegally plotting to funnel corporate contributions to Texas legislative candidates.

 
DeLay's passionate  argument that he was the victim of political persecution and was selectively targeted for doing what "everybody was doing", was rejected by State Senior Judge Pat Priest on the ground that “those who write the laws to "be bound by them.”

Priest said he agreed with a jury's verdict in November that DeLay had committed a felony by conspiring to launder corporate money into the state election, and ordered bailiffs to take DeLay - wearing a navy blue suit and his trademark American-flag lapel pin - to jail immediately. DeLay was released, pending an appeal, when his attorneys quickly posted a $10,000 bond.

DeLay  is also sentenced to five years in prison on a separate felony conviction of money laundering,  but  Priest agreed to let him serve 10 years of community service instead of jail time for that charge. Priest acknowledged that DeLay - who said he had already raised and spent $10 million on his defense - would appeal the verdict to higher courts.

Priest delivered this sentence immediately after hearing from prosecutors and the defense Monday.

"I can't be remorseful for something I don't think I did," said DeLay, who had been silent in front of the jury even while he insisted on his innocence during numerous news conferences outside the courtroom.

Bob's Burgers, a first bad course?

 

Bob's Burgers premieres tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET on Fox. This new animated comedy comes from creator Loren Bouchard  of Home Movies, Lucy, Daughter of the Devil fame. This is about a man, his family and their floundering burger joint which is the stage of the fun. 

BOB BELCHER (H. Jon Benjamin, FAMILY GUY, "Archer"), a third-generation restaurateur, runs a burgers joint with the help of his wife and their three kids. Bob has big ideas about burgers, condiments and sides, but only a few thoughts on customer service and business management. Despite his greasy counters, lousy location and occasionally spotty service, Bob is convinced his burgers speak for themselves.

Bob and his lovable and quirky family are convinced their burgers are their ticket to success. I'm especially looking forward to the performance of H. Jon Benjamin, who kills on Archer, and Kristen Schaal, whose career has skyrocketed since she became a stalker on Flight of the Conchords. Both have distinct voices and know how to bring the comedy. The pilot of Bob's Burgers has some other elements that also work (including a jealous health inspector who claims cannibalism at Bob's) and a few strands of family sentimentality, character-building and love, the elements that worked so well as the guiding force of "King of the Hill." The key, unsurprisingly, is using Benjamin's note-perfect ability to make Bob funny and likable. When "Bob's Burgers" gets rolling and hints at the smarts that made "Home Movies" and "Dr. Katz" so good, it only makes you long for a distancing on the inane, easy-joke riffs that try to be "edgy."

Some think, it's unwise  and unnecessary  to launch an animated sitcom such as Bob's Burgers that appears intent to ape the vulgarity quotient of "Family Guy." But it remains to be seen what the ultimate outcome is. The series revolves around Bob (Benjamin, who can pretty much make any dialogue funny).

Unifirst has suffered from persistently high unemployment in the U.S. and Canada. It had reported declining earnings in recent quarters but its top line has shown promise. 


For the quarter ended Nov. 27, UniFirst's profit increased to $23.8 million from $23.6 million a year earlier but declined to $1.20 from $1.21 on a per-share basis as the number of shares outstanding increased slightly. Revenue rose 6.6% to $273.1 million. 

The laundry business, by far the company's largest, had a 5.7% increase in revenue as profit dropped 2.8%. At the specialty garment segment, revenue increased 13% as earnings dropped by the same measure on margin pressures. 

Company shares closed Tuesday at $54.68.

Gabrielle Giffords In Critical Condition

Gabrielle Giffords, a Democratic congresswoman from Arizona, was shot today at a public event outside a grocery store.

A spokesman for the Pima County sheriff says that at least 12 people were shot, with at least 6 fatalities. The Tucson Citizen reports that Rep. Giffords was "shot point blank in the head."

Rep. Giffords, an Arizona Democrat, was first elected to the House in 2006. She represents the state's 8th Congressional District.

The man identified by authorities as the gunman in yesterday’s shooting rampage, which killed six and critically injured Representative Gabrielle Giffords, Democrat of Arizona, appears to have left a trail of bizarre and antigovernment messages on the Internet. Law enforcement sources identified the gunman as Jared Lee Loughner, 22, of Tucson. Loughner, or someone using his name, left postings and homemade videos that laid out a fervent, though largely incoherent, set of political views.


“He wasn’t very outgoing, but he was personable. If you sat down to talk to him, he would talk to you back,’’ said Timothy Cheves, 22, a friend. “But he’d get frustrated with people easily. . . . He’d think that a lot of people were just idiots.’’

That included people in politics, Cheves said: “He was like a radical against both parties. . . . From what I got, it seemed like he didn’t like anybody that was in power.’’
Loughner never talked of using violence, Cheves said, but “there was something there that wasn’t quite right.”

Update :

Doctors are cautiously optimistic that Rep. Giffords, who Reuters writes is "battling for her life," will survive after suffering a gunshot wound to the head.

Giffords was conscious and responsive after brain surgery, though former U.S. Surgeon General Richard Carmona, a family friend, said she had suffered a "very devastating and very severe" injury.

Fake Internet news site World Weekly News published a scandalous story that Facebook will close March 15, 2011, due to the tension that has since founder Mark Zuckerberg through. This type of news does not even worth our time and effort.

In a press conference outside his office in Palo Alto, according to a blog, Zuckerberg said: “Facebook has gotten out of control and stress management this company has ruined my life. I have to stop all the madness. ”. ”I personally do not think it’s a great thing,” he reportedly said in a telephone interview private. ”And to be honest, I think for the better. Without Facebook, people have to go out and make real friends. That’s always a good thing.”

Avrate Humarthi, Vice President of Technical Affairs, Facebook is also quoted in the post blogspot, “After March 15 off the entire site. So if you ever want to see your photos again, I recommend you take them off the Internet. You will not be able to return once Facebook goes out of business. ”

So to confirm, this is a false story of a fake news site, similar to that of the onion and chives. As a reminder, always fact check before transmission of stories.

Jamaal Charles misses Jim Brown’s(born February 17, 1936)  rushing average record by two-hundredths of a yard. Brown 6.4 yards per attempt; Charles 6.38.

That figure, .02 yards, is .06 feet, or .72 inches. To put it in perspective … well, “this sentence” is definitely longer than .72 inches. Heck, the word perspective might be, too.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ Jamaal Charles has been one of the NFL’s most explosive running backs this year, but he’s also been a fantasy blight, thanks to Todd Haley’s capricious play-calling. Charles is second in the NFL in rushing yards despite getting just 230 carries this season.  It seems he is a good threat to Jim Brown’s NFL record for yards per carry entering Week 17.

James Nathaniel Brown is an American former professional football player. He  has also made his mark as an actor. He is best known for his exceptional and record-setting nine-year career as a running back for the NFL Cleveland Browns from 1957 to 1965. In 2002, he was named by The Sporting News as the greatest professional football player ever. He is considered to be one of the greatest professional athletes the U.S. has ever produced.

Brown’s 1,863 rushing yards in the 1963 season remain a Cleveland franchise record. It is currently the oldest franchise record for rushing yards out of all 32 NFL teams. While others have compiled more prodigious statistics, when viewing Brown’s standing in the game his style of running must be considered along with statistical measures. He was very difficult to tackle (shown by his leading 5.2 yards per carry), often requiring more than one person to bring him down.

Jim Brown hasn't made it back to Cotton Bowls very often since he played in the 1957 game, when his Syracuse Orangement were beaten by TCU 28-27. He accepted an invitation to return for this AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic because it will be the 75th.

A jolt-and-roll felt around the Bay Area Friday afternoon. scientists say the 4.1 magnitude quake, followed by several smaller ones, was routine in an area notorious for seismic restlessness.

The earthquake struck 13 miles southeast of San Jose's City Hall at 4:10 p.m. on Friday, in a locked-up patch of rocks deep underground near the Calaveras Fault in a remote oak-studded landscape.

The precise location was identified as 11 miles southeast of Alum Rock and 10 miles north of Mount Hamilton. The jolt was  felt as far away as Santa Cruz and Martinez. Around the South Bay and elsewhere, the earthquake jolted more than few although no one reported any damage.

Though residents in Milpitas and San Jose felt the jolt, police didn't receive an influx of calls. "I was kind of surprised, that no one called. I felt it a little rocking," said Belen Anaya, dispatcher at Milpitas Police.

 
It is  the latest in a series of occasional jolts triggered by the restless fault, which routinely releases stress caused by the earth's shifting continental plates.

Its epicenter was only 1.5 miles from the center of the infamous 1984 temblor in Morgan Hill, which caused damage that totaled more than $10 million. But U.S. Geological Survey scientists do not think it is a precursor to that large quake. They predict a recurrence at that site in another 30 years.

This region, near the intersection with the Hayward fault, is a place of ongoing and often imperceptible earth creeping, as evidenced by routinely broken sidewalks in Hayward and Fremont. But sometimes small sections of rocks -- about four football fields in size -- get stuck, and then trigger an earthquake when they suddenly give way.

Gene Sperling To Replace Larry Summers

Gene Sperling, 52,  is to be named as director of the National Economic Council on Friday. It is a tactical move by President Barack Obama that will place a veteran policy and political player in the White House to work with a divided Congress. He is to replace the now dispensable Larry Summers. A new season for a new director, and the incompatibility of summer and winter is obvious.

The role gives Gene Sperling broad oversight of the administration's economic policies. Presently,  the White House contends with near-double digit unemployment and looming legislative battles over the budget and deficit. His appointment comes amid a broader shake-up of Obama's senior staff as the White House ramps up the president's re-election campaign.

The confirmation of Sperling's appointment came from White House early Friday, which had been anticipated for days. Now President Barrack Obama was to announce his new post, as well as other changes to the economic team, later in the day during remarks on the economy.

December jobs report which is out Friday morning shows  the nation's unemployment rate fell to 9.4 percent. It is  the lowest since May 2009.  Perhaps it is  because more people gave up on their job searches than people found jobs. This will be one of President’s key announcements later in the day during remarks on the economy.Sperling advised President Bill Clinton and 2004 Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry and  is perceived as a rare policy adviser who also has a deft touch communicating the message in a legislative and political environment. He is currently a senior counselor to Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner.

Hope, Gene Sperling’s  new role will help  to accelerate the recovery and find an antidote to the still sky-high jobless numbers.  Whatever the outcome, it will certainly place him at the center of a debate with economic ramifications for the country and political implications for President Obama when he seeks his          re-election in 2012.

This man who destroyed his 33-year marriage by cheating on his wife and impregnating his mistress, predictably will do so.

No One Killed Jessica Review

“No One Killed Jessica” is well accepted in the circles of critics and actors alike. The film's storytelling has impressed most of the critics.

The storyline of the film is the   widely publicised  Jessica Lal murder case. The focus of this film is entirely based on the real incident, the actuality behind the dirty political manipulations and the shameful game the power brokers play.

This is not the first time Gupta has worked on a real life jerker. In fact the filmmaker has given previous attempts on such horrid subjects before too. This genre of the film is hard hitting and guts wrenching.

 

As per Taran Adarsh, Bollywood Hungama, "Most storytellers entertain, a few enlighten. A scattering number of celluloid visionaries entertain as well as enlighten. Rajkumar Gupta fits into that exceptional variety of film-makers that opens up thought-processes about the condition of the homeland without losing the cinematic elements that constitute a film."

The director has tried to remain faithful to the happenings that occurred that fateful night. and also what transpired subsequently. Besides depicting reality on celluloid, he adds the thrill element to the plotline, which makes it enchanting.

The public sentiment attached with the Jessica Lall case is also taken care of and it evokes public sentiments. You feel empathy, rage, helplessness, and triumph at every step of the way with our two female protagonists."

Vidya Balan sparkles in her role as  Sabrina, letting the silence speak instead. Her face remains resilient in her pursuit for justice, even if her body language remains  timid. In a scene where she bursts out, letting the pent-up emotions find release through powerful expression of anger.

 In a contrast, Rani Mukherji performed brilliantly as Meera. She has the more appealing role of the two, but a lesser performer might not  not have made the same impact. As the bad-mouthed, strong-willed journalist, she gives one of her best performances till date.

Kaveree Bamzai, India Today says, "Rani is a revelation as the star anchor with a heart of gold and the mouth of a sewer rat. She cusses, curls her lip in contempt at cuties, plays around with juniors, but when it comes to the story she is unerring in pursuing it. Vidya is strong and steady, often startling with her quietude--there's a scene in which she's walking on the street lost in thought and comes up short against an elephant."

The film is successful in keeping the audiences glued to their seats.  When You know the beginning and the ending of a story, it is indeed difficult to engage the viewers for two and a quarter hours. We know  how Jessica Lal was murdered. You also know the guilty will eventually be punished. Yet from the minute the phone rings by Sabrina Lal's bedside, the viewer is on the edge of his seat. The pace is frantic and the dialogues forceful.

"No One Killed Jessica" is  a movie that deserves a standing ovation.

The “Police State” episode proves once and for all that the feds have trained to take on American citizens, planned for riots and disasters and made preparations to maintain order at any cost. Jesse Ventura is not one to be scared off very easily so he just kept going. There were plenty of threats that came across to him and people that were not happy about what he was saying. It’s almost unbelievable the things that he will show you. No wonder the show was censored.

Millard South High School Shooting

A high school student shot his principal and was later found dead this afternoon in an incident at Millard South High School in Omaha, Nebraska.

On January 5,  the shooter entered the front office at Millard South High School, firing four to five shots. The gunman shot two people, Principal Curtis and Assistant Principal Vicki Kaspar. They were taken to the hospital, Assistant Principal Vicki Kaspar has died. Principal Curtis’s case is still in danger but in stable condition.

Jake Bettin, a police officer in Omaha, confirmed that the shooter was a student at Millard South High School. His body was found in a car after the incident.

The investigation is going on and the school is closed. The  students are safe inside the building and that police have full control. Neighboring schools have been dismissed as a precautionary measure.

The shooter is identified as Robert Butler Jr., 17 years old. Before shooting, he yelled at the students to get in the kitchen.

He warned in a Facebook post on the same day of the attack that people would hear about the "evil" things he did and said the school drove him to violence.

"Everybody that used to know me I'm sry but Omaha changed me and (expletive) me up. and the school I attend is even worse ur gonna here about the evil (expletive) I did but that (expletive) school drove me to this. I wont u guys to remember me for who I was b4 this ik. I greatly affected the lives of the families ruined but I'm sorry. goodbye."

The reason of provocation of the young lad is not yet known.

The reason the 17-year-old gunman who opened fire at his Nebraska high school, killing an assistant principal is, he had been suspended from class and removed from the building hours earlier for driving on an athletic field, police said Thursday.

Robert Butler Jr. was escorted out of Millard South High School on Wednesday morning. A few hours later, he returned and shot both the assistant principal and the principal before fleeing and killing himself, police said.

Queen Latifah comes out openly with her past job and future plans.

Latifah, her real name Dana Elaine Owens, is a tough individual.

There is  a lot of rumor in air about her sexuality, after her photographs with her “friend” and trainer Jeannette Jenkins. Some openly cry out about her being a lesbo. Whatever the truth is, it hardly matters to others except the satisfaction of their curiosity.

The rumor mongers are always very good at photo journalism and they use this excuse to spy on others privacy.

She worked in Burger King when she was 15.

“My grandfather owned a hardware store in Newark. Just seeing him becoming successful and how it became a family business was always interesting to me. And if my brother and I wanted money in our pockets, we had to get jobs — my first was at 15, at Burger King. We had to come up with ways to create an income.

 

“Unfortunately, some of the brightest minds use that hustler spirit and apply it to becoming drug dealers. I didn’t want to be that person. It wasn’t a positive way to make money, and we all knew that it led to death or jail.
“My parents raised me to stand up for myself. If there was something I believed in, I had to fight for it. As a pioneer, sometimes I had to stand alone. You just have to believe in your own ideas.

“On cruise control, with a couple of kids under my belt. It’s in the Lord’s hands,” she said. Now do not tell, she is planning to have babies with another woman fathering her babies, or adopting few for her cruise control!

The Mega Millions drawing on Tuesday January 04, 2011 has at least 1 winner, it  is confirmed. This person is in Idaho.

The Mega Millions winning numbers were 04, 08, 15, 25, 47 and mega number 42. The jackpot was worth $355 million with a cash option of a little over $224 million. The name of the winner(s) has not yet been announced.

The next drawing on Friday will now only be worth $12 million with a cash option of $7.5 million.
Needless to say the people who did not win  are sad that they did not win. That is the fall out of such a big lottery as  Mega Millions.

Live To Dance Judges

Live To Dance Judges:  Paula Abdul is back at the judges' table on her new show ‘Live to Dance’, along with choreographer Travis Payne and Pussycat Dolls member Kimberly Wyatt.

In ‘Live To Dance’,  Paula Abdul is going to use a new method of judging America’s future stars.  There is no age limit so the lucky leprechaun can be 9 or 90. The pot of gold at the end of the competition  is worth a nice $500,000.

For tonight's premiere,  contestants competed to get on the short list for the semi-finals as they make their way to the finale where somebody, or a group will be named America's best dance act. 

Post American Idol,  life brings new type of work for Paula Abdul;   it is  to judge.  She and her partners  are giving their two sense on the arts of shaking bodies rather than moving vocal chords.  They have  to give their insights, opinions and sometimes strong emotional reactions to the dancers on ‘Live to Dance’?

They are choreographer, Travis Payne, and Pussycat Doll, Kimberly Wyatt.

Travis Payne, 39,  most recently made headlines for his work with Michael Jackson. He was the choreographer on Michael Jackson’s last – uncompleted – project ‘This Is It’ and he went on the be an associate producer of the film of the same title. Along with Michael Jackson, he has also worked with the likes of En Vogue, Salt-N-Pepa and Janet Jackson.


Kimberly Wyatt, 28, was made famous by being one of the Pussycat Dolls. But she left the group in 2010 to start her own band ‘Her Majesty and the Wolves’. Their first album comes out later this year.  But this isn’t the first time she’s been in the judge’s seat. She had been a judge on the show Got to Dance, the British TV show that Live to Dance is based on.

Bill Erwin, an actor best known for his Emmy-nominated turn as a crotchety old man on "Seinfeld," died at his home in Studio City, California, on Wednesday at 96 of age-related causes.

Bill Erwin had a pretty impressive career, with more than 250 TV and film credits under his belt!  He  was a well-respected character actor whose career spanned films, television and the stage.

In addition to Seinfeld, Bill Erwin appeared on a variety of TV shows, including “Leave It to Beaver,” “I Love Lucy,” “Gunsmoke,” “The Andy Griffith Show,” “Twilight Zone,” “The Fugitive,” “Perry Mason,” “Growing Pains,” “Who’s the Boss?” “Married With Children” and  “Star Trek: The Next Generation.”

Bill Erwin died on December 29; he has two daughters, two sons and eight grandchildren.

Former Bachelor and Bachelorette  star DeAnna Pappas appeared on The Bachelor tonight to talk about being dumped by Brad Womack, who is once again handing out roses after his first controversial season as the Bachelor.

The Bachelor 2011 premiered  with Brad Womack returning to have a second chance at finding true love.

He  will go down in history of The Bachelor  as one of the most controversial r contestants, after he left Deanna Pappas and Jenni Croft heartbroken at the end of the show.

In case you didn't know the big news, DeAnna Pappas  is now engaged to high school teacher Stephen Stagliana. His  twin brother Michael was a contestant on Jillian Harrison's season of the show.

Lifetime’s movie about Phillip Markoff “the Craigslist killer” shows another victim of Markoff’s double life– his fiancee Megan Mcallister.

As Megan Mcallister was planning her wedding, she found out her finance Philip Markoff was a serial killer. He was arrested and put in jail.  Then Markoff   committed  suicide.  Megan Mcallister is working towards her career in medicine and trying to move on with her life.

 Barely four months after the accused killer used a plastic bag and a makeshift shiv to end it all, the so-called “network for women” is breathlessly rushing the movie “the//craigslist.killer” to your living room. And it’s every bit as sleazy as you’d expect.

No gory detail is spared in the depictions of his alleged crimes or his Aug. 15 suicide at the Suffolk County Jail in Massachusetts. Beyond being a money-grabbing offense to the families involved, including Markoff’s, the movie shows little determination to explain the budding physician’s pathology beyond the well-publicized fact that Markoff needed money to feed his gambling habit. And the best way to get that cash, we’re told, was by robbing sex-trade workers because of their reluctance to go to the police.

All three of the attacks Markoff was accused of –– the murder and robbery of 26-year-old masseuse Julissa Brisman at the Boston Marriott Copley Place; the robbery of 29-year-old masseuse Trisha Leffler at the Westin Copley Place; and the attempted robbery and assault on an exotic dancer in Warwick, R.I. –– are graphically re-enacted.

Peter Postlethwaite Died

Oscar-nominated actor Pete Postlethwaite passed away on Sunday due to complications from cancer. He was 64.

A representative for Mr. Postlethwaite confirmed his passing in Shropshire, western England. Pete Postlethwaite is survived by his wife Jacqui and two children Will, 21, and daughter Lily, 14.

Peter Postlethwaite had one of those faces — weathered, folded, kneaded, endlessly interesting — that demanded to be on camera, even as it denied him any possibility of leading man status. And yet, in the latter half of his career, Postlethwaite made a convincing case for the character actor as star. 

The turning point, of course, was a hard-earned and wholly unexpected 1993 Academy Award nomination for “In the Name of the Father”. His granite-hard and quietly mournful performance as Maguire Seven convict Giuseppe Conlon joining a gallery of performances last year as one of the finest Oscar fields in history. 

He could not win, but the payoff was immense.

 It  gave Peter Postlethwaite  greater visibility than he’d likely ever dreamed of. Hollywood offered him roles in “The Usual Suspects,” “The Lost World: Jurassic Park” (in which he was better than any other actor would have bothered to be, and, paired with his work in “Amistad” the same year, earned him a “best actor in the world” endorsement from Steven Spielberg.

Heading into the finale Sunday night ‘a winner-take-all regular-season’ against NFC West rival St. Louis, the Seattle quarterback situation remains up in the air.
For the Rams, however, it couldn't be any more clear. With poise beyond his years, the Oklahoma product already is called a "franchise quarterback" by some and has led St. Louis from a league-worst 1-15 season in 2009 to one victory from the playoffs at 7-8. Carroll has been most impressed by Bradford's consistency in the face of challenges and distractions — including the hype that comes with being selected with the No. 1 choice. Rookie Sam Bradford, the No. 1 overall choice in the 2010 NFL draft, earned the starting spot by the team's third exhibition game and has flourished as an every-week starter ever since. "He's just a natural and can get it done," said Seahawks coach Pete Carroll. "He's going to be a big factor in this division for a long time."

Seahawks safety Earl Thomas said that steadiness dates back to college, where Bradford won a Heisman Trophy in his sophomore year with the Sooners.

"We've been battling for a long time, since my first year in college, and we've had some good battles," said Thomas, who intercepted Bradford twice in 2008. "He's doing the exact same thing in the NFL that he did in college — he's playing great for his team. I'm pretty sure he's the front-runner for the rookie of the year. That says a lot about him and how he's carried his team this year."

Bradford has had help, notably from workhorse running back Steven Jackson, who has 1,196 rushing yards and a league-leading 319 carries. Jackson also has helped in the passing game with 42 receptions and 344 receiving yards.

That production is hardly new for Jackson, a three-time Pro Bowl choice from Oregon State. Bradford's numbers have arguably surpassed expectations, with 3,357 passing yards, 18 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. His 335 completions have set an NFL record by a rookie, breaking the mark set by Peyton Manning.

Seattle linebacker Lofa Tatupu warns that Bradford is also more mobile than people think. And he's tough, as was evident in the Rams' 20-3 home victory against the Seahawks in October.

"He's a stud, man. He's not afraid of anything. He'll stand in there and deliver the ball, even getting hit. We got some good licks on him. He gets up and he'll still throw it in there." said Tatupu.
