Bayer Aspirin is in news. This time, not for pain relief, but for causing pain.


Million Dollar Money Drop tonight had  common knowledge questions to be answered  to make a million dollars. The couple Casey and Kyle was looking to answer  the 7 questions.

The question for the competition of number was:

Which one of these were introduced first?
  • Band-Aid Brand Bandages
  • Bayer Asprin 
  • Nyquil

The answer was Bayer Aspirin.


The first year of introduction for Bayer Aspirin was 1897, for  Band-Aid Brand Banages the year is 1921 and for  Nyquil 1960's.

Aspirin is a pain killer and Bayer is a brand.

Aspirin is in a group of drugs called salicylates (sa-LIS-il-ates). It works by reducing substances in the body that cause pain, fever, and inflammation. Aspirin is used to treat mild to moderate pain, and also to reduce fever or inflammation. Aspirin is sometimes used to treat or prevent heart attacks, strokes, and chest pain (angina). Aspirin should be used for cardiovascular conditions only under the supervision of a doctor.


Active ingredient (in each tablet)

Aspirin (acetylsalicylic acid). Pain reliever/fever reducer
Inactive ingredients
carnauba wax*, corn starch, hypromellose, powdered cellulose, triacetin.

 

What are the possible side effects of aspirin?

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Stop using this medication and call your doctor at once if you have any of these serious side effects:

  • black, bloody, or tarry stools;
  • coughing up blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds;
  • severe nausea, vomiting, or stomach pain;
  • fever lasting longer than 3 days;
  • swelling, or pain lasting longer than 10 days; or
  • hearing problems, ringing in your ears.

Less serious side effects may include:

  • upset stomach, heartburn;
  • drowsiness; or
  • headache.
