Bad news for the Play Station pirates.
Sony has released a new system firmware update for the PlayStation 3. Firmware 3.55 is described by Sony as "a minor update that adds a security patch".
It is obvious that the update is targeted towards the PS3 Jailbreak that surfaced this year in August. When Sony files a lawsuit against PS3 Jailbreak for selling the PS3 mod PSJailbreak and released a security patch in September, the creators of the Jailbreak quickly developed a downgrade for the PlayStation 3 in October, to counter the Sony move. Sony has now issued its counter-attack to the Jailbreak counter attack in the form of the latest firmware update.
The cat and mouse game is on.
